Stitch Club workshops
Every few months, we offer a dedicated machine stitch workshop.
Our ethos has always been to develop Stitch Club based on the feedback of members. When we started Stitch Club back in 2020, the focus of the workshops was exclusively hand stitch and mixed media. But when we surveyed members and over 90% told us they’d love an occasional machine embroidery workshop, we listened!
On top of that, because individual experimentation is at the heart of Stitch Club, some workshop leaders explore ways to include machine stitch, even if the main emphasis of the workshop is hand stitch and mixed media.
A helping hand
The workshop leaders are available to answer questions and give advice for two weeks after their workshop has been posted, so you can always reach out for advice and guidance about incorporating machine stitch into your work.
If you don’t have a machine, or machine stitch isn’t for you, that’s OK! The vast majority of workshops are based on hand stitch and mixed media. There’s a whole host of techniques and processes for you to explore, including collage and appliqué, storytelling with stitch, embellishment and surface design, landscape, portraiture, dyeing and printing, and much more!
We love hearing from members with their requests for workshops, so if there is a particular artist you’d love to learn from, or a specific technique or process you’d like to explore, do get in touch and let us know.
