In the members area, click on your profile thumbnail image.
On a laptop or desktop computer the thumbnail is in the bottom left corner.
On a phone or tablet the thumbnail is in the top right corner.
Click ‘Edit profile’.
Find the ‘Prevent members from messaging me’ option at the bottom of the menu and make sure this is toggled off on your profile. (If this feature is on, members will not be able to contact you via direct messaging.)
Click the ‘Save changes’ button at the bottom of the screen.
To send direct messages
On a laptop or desktop click on ‘Direct Messages’ in the left sidebar.
On a phone or tablet click the hamburger menu icon (the three lines at the top), then click on ‘Direct Messages’.
Click on the plus (+) icon to start a new message.
In the ‘To:’ box start to type the name of the member you want to contact, then click on their name when it appears.
Type your message in the text box. You can add links or images using the icons below.
Click ‘Enter’ or the arrow icon to send.
To access direct messages
Click on ‘Direct messages’ to read your unread messages.
If you have an unread message, a red notification will appear next to ‘Direct messages’ in the main menu.
